Rhone uses a prepaid USD balance for gateway-managed model usage and explicit billable tool charges. BYOK usage stays vendor-billed, and workspace catalog pricing is shown separately from this settlement rollout.
Gateway-managed inference

- Exact upstream pass-through charges debit the prepaid balance
- No Rhone token markup is added in this launch phase
- Observability, routing, and platform enforcement stay server-owned
- Use the same balance across chat apps and hosted gateway flows
BYOK and tools
Separated cleanly
- BYOK model usage is billed directly by the connected vendor account
- Built-in tools debit the balance only when they emit explicit billing metadata
- Non-billable tool activity still appears in analytics without reducing prepaid credit

Workspace catalog pricing is listed here for planning. This billing rollout makes model usage and explicit tool charges authoritative first; workspace settlement remains a follow-on path.
